Two years after completing a series of local racehorse portraits taken in Palermo in 2006, Dumas has returned to the city to capture the stray dogs of the city. The photographer’s painstaking approach and steady powers of observation have resulted in fourteen intimate portraits. Decaying classical motifs and everyday debris frame the dogs that have mostly been photographed at close range. The fourteen full-colour images are presented in a signed and limited edition.
